Globalize the Curriculum

H&S aspires to educate global citizens.

The most effective learning instills deep curiosity and knowledge about other peoples and cultures—by studying the languages, histories, politics, and economics of different societies and by participating in field research, internships, and programs, students gain the skills needed to succeed in a globalized world. It is clear that solutions to the greatest challenges of the 21st century will demand partnerships that reach beyond national boundaries.

Whether students pursue classics or statistics, music or symbolic systems, the School of Humanities and Sciences aspires to educate global citizens. H&S is Stanford’s only school equipped to teach the foundational knowledge required to respond to the challenges and leverage the opportunities ahead. Our task is to provide a relevant education that will inspire and prepare our students for the future.
