Joel Cabrita wins Aidoo-Snyder Book Prize
Joel Cabrita, a professor in the Department of History and in the Department of African and African American Studies, has been selected as a co-winner of the 2025 African Studies Association's Aidoo-Snyder Book Prize for her book Written Out: The Silencing of Regina Gelana Twala. This year, the committee chose two books due to the outstanding quality of the submissions. Books published in 2023 and 2024 were considered. The award will be presented in December during a luncheon.
