Mark Applebaum, the Leland and Edith Smith Professor and professor in the Department of Music, has been awarded a 2025 Arts and Letters Award in Music from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The award acknowledges composers who “have arrived at their own voice.” Applebaum is also a Continuing Bass University Fellow in Undergraduate Education at Stanford.
