Terry Karl receives inaugural human rights award
Terry Karl, the Gildred Professor in Latin American Studies, Emerita, in the Department of Political Science has been awarded the Jon de Cortina Guernica 37 Justice Award. Karl was selected for the inaugural prize for her human rights work in Latin America, especially her decades-long commitment to seeking justice for six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper, and the housekeeper's daughter who were murdered by government forces at a university in El Salvador during that country's civil war.
