Barnabas Daru named 2025 Sloan Research Fellow

Barnabas Daru, assistant professor in the Department of Biology, has been named a 2025 Sloan Research Fellow by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The two-year fellowship honors early-career scientists in the United States and Canada. Winners are selected by an independent panel that looks at the candidate’s research and future leadership potential. Daru was honored for his work related to understanding and preserving biodiversity.
