Heritage Eats at Stanford Unveils a Refreshed Menu and Expanded Catering
The people spoke, and Heritage Eats at Stanford listened. Now founder and owner Ben Koenig and his team hope you’ll be bowled over by their latest culinary creations.
After serving globally inspired cuisine in Jordan Hall for almost a year, Chris Cutini, general manager of Heritage Eats at Stanford, found that many of his customers preferred to order menu items in bowl-form for a convenient way to enjoy lunch on the go. After gathering additional feedback from the campus community, Koenig and Cutini decided to launch a redesigned, easier-to-navigate menu this spring.
To anchor the new menu, Koenig created a selection of “hearty, healthy, and flavorful” signature items: six chef-curated, bowl-style dishes that feature a range of ingredients and expanded protein options, including Thai-style pork, jerk chicken, grilled shrimp, falafel, and tofu.
Many dishes have been enhanced with new ingredients or optional add-ons such as kimchi, quinoa, and edamame. But fans of their tacos and wraps need not worry, as those items will remain available, along with house-made beverages such as hibiscus tea and Vietnamese iced coffee, which can all be served with boba (tapioca pearls).
Heritage Eats at Stanford has also expanded its catering services, and Koenig says they hope to become “a top-of-mind option” for students and staff planning events around campus. Rice and salad bowls as well as assorted wraps are available in sizes to serve five people or more.
Customers may also order individual boxed lunches for events, or a build-your-own “Heritage Spread,” which provides a full assortment of proteins, sauces, and toppings. Cutini says that their catering stands out for the variety of its fresh, hot foods and vegetarian friendly options.
Koenig and Cutini emphasize that from the moment it opened on campus, Heritage Eats, a family-owned business, has sought to improve continually and find new ways to serve the Stanford community.
“We recognize that there are a lot of options out there,” Cutini said. “We’re eager to hear what students, faculty, and staff want and need from us.”
Heritage Eats at Stanford serves lunch Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm in the basement of Jordan Hall.
