Steven Banik and Christopher O. Barnes named 2023 Pew Biomedical Scholars

Steven Banik, assistant professor of chemistry, and Christopher O. Barnes, assistant professor of biology, have been named 2023 Pew Biomedical Scholars. Banik has been recognized for his work on facilitating the delivery of proteins to subcellular compartments using a cell's inherent ability to ingest materials. Barnes has been recognized for his work on developing vaccine candidates that create antibodies that react with multiple members of the coronavirus family, including COVID-19 and its known variants.
